Seeing each other for the first time

This past weekend I was in Phoenix helping one of my coordinators, Kelsey, with her wedding vendor meetings and attending her bridal shower. While we were attending the venue meeting the subject came up about setting some time aside to give the bride and groom a private moment to see each other on their wedding day for the first time.

My mind instantly went back to Julieanna's Patio Cafe on Saturday November 29, 2008 when I saw my groom Don for the first time on our wedding day. He looked so handsome on our wedding day, here is him waiting...aww he looks nervous!!

When I walked up to him I said hi you can turn around and his first words were "Oh Wow!"

We cried, laughed and embraced it was a magical moment that neither of us will ever forget;

If you choose to see each other before the wedding like we did, set aside some private moments for the two of you to see each other for the first time on your wedding day. You won't regret it and I promise your beloved will help you get rid of the nervous jitters.

If you decide to see each other at the wedding ceremony then set aside some time after you walk back up the aisle. Ask your maid of honor and best man to keep the bridal party in another location for just a few minutes and really embrace what just happened. We did both and it made us really take in the fact that we were just married and we loved the quiet moments.

Until Next Time...Happy Planning!

  1. Awwww, that's the best little collection of pictures ever! What a sweet thing to bring up. Seems like most people trip down the aisle, say I do, kiss, and they're busy-busy the rest of the night. I hope everyone reads this and remembers to take a few minutes alone with their new spouse.
