Fabulous Friday Find: Table Vogue

Do you have one of those utilitarian banquet or card tables sitting in your garage… the ones that you break out when you need extra surface space for entertaining, usually doing your best to pretty it up with a rented or store-bought tablecloth that doesn’t quite reach the ground?

Well then do I have a fabulous find for you! Tablevogue a smart new product that instantly transforms those “drab” all purpose tables into fabulous dining, buffet, bar, or gift tables for all sorts of parties & occasions!

These full-length covers provide a snug, tailored fit for standard 6 foot utility and 34 inch folding card tables, complete with box pleats at each corner (no more table skirts, clipping or pinning!) and are made from 100% pure polyester from textile industry leader Milliken & Company. They won’t fade or shrink after laundering, and you can use the dryer as your “iron” to smooth out wrinkles before using… which is especially great for people like me that would rather do pretty much anything than iron!

Added bonus: if you’re a nesting newbie or never need a reason to throw a party like me, you can even use Tablevogue to turn inexpensive utilitarian tables into stylish, everyday home decor. Check out how great these makeshift home bar and accent tables look:

Both of the tables above were customized with letters/monograms. You can tailor the font to match your existing decor & create your own signature look!

Here are a few more ideas for customizing Tablevogue for specific types of parties & occasions:

Above: Ribbon & tassles add a little dazzle to the box pleats, and below: artificial flowers & hula skirts are perfect for spring/summer entertaining and tropical party themes.

Style up your drink & dessert buffets…

And when you’re entertaining outdoors (or using the tablevogue as a bar), the floor-length linens create a great space for hiding extra drinks, food, & supplies…

Tablevogue is currently available in “Natural”, with more colors in development. Prices range from $39.99 for 34″ tablecloth to $49.99 for a 6″ tablecloth.

CTD Event: Meet Mary Grace Party

A popular Southern tradition is to throw a "sip and see" party when your child is born. Friends and family are invited to come sip on ice tea and other drinks while they see the new born baby. I had planned on a party like this when Maddy was born but motherhood was a bit much and I didn't get around to it. So when one of my dear clients recently had a baby girl, Mary Grace, I jumped on the opportunity to throw a party for her.

I am not going to call my party a sip and see I am going to call it a "Meet Mary" party.

One of my favorite clients, Sarah, who has become a dear friend shares a secret obession of mine which is to blog stalk other people. One such blogs is the
Kandell family who thew a party for their employees. I love everything about this party from the unusual color scheme of red, tiffany blue and white to the cotton candy machine and face painting. This is the perfect jumping point for the Meet Mary party.

Anyway I say all this to show you how to go about planning an outstanding event. Don't feel like you have to come up with all these unique ideas just do your homework and work off others ideas to make them your own. Most importantly celebrate every life event!! We offer the Sensational Soiree package to help you celebrate a stress-free party while staying on a budget. This package is only $25.00 an hour and includes party planning, service staff, set-up and clean-up. Please contact me at CircleTheDate@hotmail.com to ask about available dates!

CTD Real Wedding: Kimberly & Alex

What a beautiful wedding day for Kimberly and Alex! Much of their wedding featured many elements of their beautiful culture. During their Catholic ceremony, many of the bride and groom’s close family and friends participated in the ceremony by bringing up the prayer book, kneeling pillows, lasso which symbolizes unity, and the gold coins/arras which sygnify that the groom will support his bride and are a symbol of his unquestionable trust and confidence.

At the reception, they had mariachi perform during dinner and to end off the night the bride and groom did a traditional Mexican snake dance and if you’ve never seen this done, it’s a lot of fun to watch! We were very lucky to be a part of someone’s most important day and to top it off, experience so many exciting cultural traditions. Thank you Kimberly and Alex for letting us share in your day!

I Heart Placecards

I love placecards...I love thinking of new creative ways of displaying them and coming up with different embellishments for them. I think they are an important first impression. Here are just a few of my favorite placecard ideas from TheKnot.com.

Look at these hand stamped cards with the guests' names on them;

I love this key place card for a "you hold the key to my heart" themed party or wedding;

And for my favorite spring 2011 bride Tina G. I love these daisy shaped placecards;

CTD Real Wedding: Erika & Felipe

I enjoyed Thursday's walk down memory lane post so much that I thought we would do it again today! Here are pictures from Erika and Felipe's October 3, 2009 wedding.

Erika's colors were fall themed with deep purples and golds. From fall branches and hundreds of mason jars to a canopy with chandeliers dripping in crystals no detail was overlooked to set a back drop for such a momentous occasion.

And they lived happily ever after....

Happy Friday!

I hope you have had a wonderful week and are planning a fabulous party! I planned a dinner party for my family this week celebrating all of us around the table before my brother heads back to Afghanistan tomorrow (sniff!).

Let's talk weddings before I get too sad! For you gals that have me on your speed dial whenever you get a whiff of a party know that I can't stand the thought of someone saying oh Laurie did that at so and so event! YUCK! I hope no one ever says that about my designs. With unique in mind I can't wait until I can do this with a small wedding;

How fun would it be to have an outdoor wedding with these church pews;

I saw this picture on style me pretty and fell in love with this idea right away. Church pews aren't the most comfy seating so I love the addition of the throw pillows. They infuse the space with color while having their guests' backsides in mind!

I am also loving the branches in the wood box along the benches. We Yuma gals definitely need all the greenery we can get!! I am very lucky to have married a wood working genius so I can't wait to try this idea out with a bride that falls in love with this idea!

November 11, 2010

Today I thought it would be fun to see what I was planning last year around this time. Not only was I 8 months pregnant but I was surrounded by a wonderful couple Mike and Heather!!

Incorporating shades of purple and chocolate we created a beautiful wedding day for Mike and Heather.

Their reception tables had 2 different centerpiences some were tall like the ones we used on their guest card table and some short. All of the flowers were created by the amazing ladies at Fortuna Floral.

Infusing her wedding with art deco touches, Heather chose a beautiful wedding cake from the oh so talented Jamie Hoffman of Yuma Couture Cakes. The cake stand was created by Circle The Date Events new company Cake Shoes. We create custom cake stands for any event.

I loved the crystals dripping from her wedding arch and tall centerpieces;

Guests received a delicious dinner catered by the Pivot Point Conference Center, a chocolate fountain with all the dipping choices you could think of, a full coffee and dessert bar as well as these adorable customized chocolate bars.

I really enjoyed getting to know Mike and Heather and helping them plan their wedding. They are very special people who I know will have a very long and happy life together!

And they lived happily ever after

A very special thank you to the incredibly talented Tawnee Miller of Serendipity Photography for these beautiful wedding pictures! If you are looking for a event photographer give Tawnee a call today to schedule your free consultation at 941-0400

Trend Tip Tuesday

Looking for a hot 2010 trend? Then think about wearing a flower in your hair! Here are some tips to ensure that your wedding day ‘do is picture perfect:

1. Tear photos of hairstyles with flowers that you like out of magazines and print out images you find online to show your hairstylist what you want.

2.  Schedule a trial to see if the style you want looks right and make sure to use the same flower that you plan on using at your wedding.

3. Don’t forget to take photos of the final ‘do you decide on so the day of the wedding there is no question as to what your hairstylist should be doing. Remember to get photos from every angle: right, left, front and back

4. Determine if you are going to use a real flower or a silk flower and who is supplying it: You, your stylist or the florist.

5. If you are choosing a delicate flower, like a gardenia, ask your stylist to stick around to replace it after family portraits and the ceremony so you have a fresh bloom in your hair for the reception.

6. Don't just buy one bloom for your wedding day. Buy or order several just to be safe.

If you don't think real flowers are for you try silk flowers. I have found some really nice ones on etsy.com
